COURSE DESCRIPTION:
ES 190 is a one-unit P/NP course with no prerequisites.  This is a required course for ES majors, but it is open to all UCSB students and the campus and general public.  It can be taken up to three times for credit (i.e. you may log a total of 3-credits for ES 190).  The course is intended to provide insight into current issues in the diverse areas that constitute environmental studies.

TOPIC: 
Close to the California mainland, yet worlds apart, the remarkable CA Channel Islands and their ocean environment offer an amazing wealth of natural and cultural resources. This quarter ENV S 190 speakers will offer a unique perspective on the island’s incredible geological and human history, its animals, plants, and archeological resources found nowhere else on Earth, and what is being done to manage and protect them for future generations.

Any UCSB student, staff or community member is welcome to sit on any one or more talks during the quarter!
