SHUTTLES: We have arranged for 2 university
vans, with student drivers, to assist transporting people back
and forth from hotels to campus during "rush
hour" times in the morning and evening. if you will need a
ride between your hotel and the UCSB campus, please contact the
two people who are working to coordinate the transportation --

Please let them know if you will be driving your own rental car
and would be willing to offer rides to others, or if you will need

PARKING ON CAMPUS: We have pre-arranged special parking
on campus.
1) Any ES Summit participant
who drives onto the UCSB campus will need to stop at the east gate
parking kiosk, located at the end of
highway 217.
2) Guests will need to identify
themselves with the "Santa Barbara Environmental Summit at
the Bren School and request to purchase a two day parking permit
for Lot
10. The cost for two days is $10.00 ($8.00 for Friday
and $2.00 for Saturday).
3) You will then be directed to Lot 10
where it is just a short walk to Bren Hall and the ES Summit (see
map #2).

Both Thursday's Coastal Cruise/Whale Watch Excursion and
the Opening Reception will be held
downtown in the Santa Barbara Harbor. The
cruise will be on the
whale watch vessel, CONDOR Express, departs at 3:30 pm
from the east end of the harbor, from a building called SEA
Landing. The ES
Summit reception will
begin at 5:45 pm at the Santa Barbara Maritime
Museum, located
at the west end of the harbor (see map #3).
DIRECTIONS & PARKING AT THE SANTA BARBARA HARBOR:
1) From UCSB, take highway 101 South. Exit at
Bath St., make a left at Haley St., and then make another quick
left onto Castillo. Go four blocks till the street dead ends into
Shoreline Park/Cabrillo Blvd (see map #3).
2) Turn right onto Shoreline Dr. and go two blocks to Harbor Way
(the first stoplight you reach).
3) Turn left onto Harbor Way and enter the Santa Barbara waterfront
area.
If you are going on the Whale Watch trip
you will want to go all the way down to the SEA Landing:
4) Take the first left and drive through the
parking kiosk and enter the harbor parking lot. (see
map #3).
5) Drive all the way down to the boat launch ramp area.
6) Two thirds of the way down you will reach a bike path and automatic
gate arm. Proceed through the gate and park in any stall that is
not reserved for "boat trailers only. "
7) The SEA Landing and CONDOR Express is located at the end of
the parking lot adjacent to the launch ramp. NOTE: Save money on
parking! Bring your parking ticket stub with you and get it validated
aboard the CONDOR Express
or at the SEA Landing to save up to $ on the cost of parking!
If you are just attending the Reception at the Maritime
Museum:
4) The museum is located in the first cluster of buildings that you
see as you drive in along Harbor Way.
5) You should park in any available
stall around the building or park in one of the lots along the boat
yard.
