Linda Krop is a practicing public interest environmental lawyer. She has worked at the Environmental Defense Center, a nonprofit law firm, since 1989 and currently serve as the Chief Counsel of the EDC. Linda's work has focused primarily on the protection of natural resources, the coastal and marine environment, and open spaces. She has also been the lead attorney in the state-wide effort to block further oil and gas leasing and development off the coast of California, and currently involved in broader energy issues including liquefied natural gas. She supervises a team of environmental attorneys and analysts at EDC, covering a broad range of issues including air and water quality, resource protection, and toxics. She is also the conservation representative on the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council and have served on various community and governmental advisory committees. Finally, her other teaching experience includes UCSB Extension and the Santa Barbara College of Law.
