Approximately 325 students are currently declared as
Environmental Studies majors at UCSB. The graduating class of 2007 consisted
of 105 students, pushing the total number of ES alumni to just over 4,300.
The Environmental Studies Program includes 12 full-time faculty
members (including two distinguished endowed chair positions), a number of
affiliated faculty from other departments who teach for the ES Program, and
approximately 10 career professionals who serve as ES instructors teaching
courses on environmental topics within their field of expertise.
There are a total of five ES staff members including an Academic
and Internship Coordinator, Program Manager, Finance Administrator, and two
support staff. Two part-time student peer advisors are also available 15
to 20 hours per week to assist majors with a wide variety of academic issues
and needs.
The ES Program is proud to be affiliated with The
Environmental Studies Associates (ESA), a UCSB Community Support
group made up of community members, alumni, and faculty, who are committed
to maintaining the quality of the ES program, enhancing its visibility,
and supporting its students.
